Frank London's Klezmer Brass Allstars - Carnival Conspiracy

On occasion of the jewish Pessach - which this year coincides with solar Bircat Hachama - I thought of posting some traditional jewish music, or maybe original klezmer songs, but then I remembered this record, which is a modern day recording of a klezmer band (New York based) which mixes in music from several countries (there´s 40 musicians here, from 8 different countries), like mexican horns and the brazilian rhythm of maracatu.

Somewhat appropriate, since jews have been a wandering people. And Manhattan jewdom was born when jews migrated there from Recife (the city of maracatatu) in 1650 (when the portugueses overran the dutch colony in the northeast of Brazil).

This record is a mishmash of sounds celebrating carnaval, joyous and raucous, then funereally picking up the pieces at the end.
