Caetano Veloso - Transa

I mentioned in the post below Caetano´s record called Transa, where he recreated a classic by Monsueto, so I thought of publishing this one next.

This is the second of two albuns Caetano recorded while in exile in London (we were under a military dictatorship back then). The first is drenched with sadness but this one has the excitement of discovering other cultures, while at the same time looking back at his homeland, with lyrics in english and portuguese.

The tracks were recorded with friends, brazilian musicians living in London, in a jam-session style.

Curiosity: Nine out of ten is the first brazilian song using reggae rhythms (and one of the first non-jamaican artists to do so).

One of the best brazilian records of all time.
