Calla - Televise

I enjoy groups who are different, who differ from running along the usual ruts. Calla is one of them. So clear and at the same time dissonant. Televise transmits songs burbling up by bass lines and by the static that sometimes fills in as a rhythm section. Whispered vocals barely emerging from the mix. Lyrics like "Sit. Notice. I am silent". Listening is like watching sand blowing across their texas deserts in the evening.


Gosto de grupos musicais diferentes, que não seguem o obvio. Calla é um deles. Seu som é claro e ao mesmo tempo dissonante. Televise transmite canções impulsionadas pelo baixo e pela estática que às vezes faz as vezes de seção rítmica. O vocal é sussurrado e por instantes mergulha no mix geral. Letras como "Sente. Repare. Estou em silêncio". Ouvir é como ver areia soprando nos desertos do Texas deles ao final do dia.
